## v1.1.0 — 2026-08-22

**The licence is now the one the header always claimed.** Until this release the
three source files gave three different answers: `include/blebus.hpp` carried
`SPDX-License-Identifier: MIT`, `src/blebus.cpp` carried "Proprietary — all
rights reserved", and `tests/unit_test.cpp` carried no marker at all. There was
no `LICENSE` file to settle it, so the header's SPDX line was an unsigned
promise and the tree was, correctly read, proprietary by default copyright —
the opposite of what it said on the file a consumer includes.

- **`LICENSE` added (MIT)**, matching the other Antheos-family libraries.
- `src/blebus.cpp` now carries `SPDX-License-Identifier: MIT` instead of the
  proprietary notice.
- `tests/unit_test.cpp` carries a marker for the first time. No marker is a
  third answer, not the absence of one.

This is a minor rather than a patch release because the licence is the term
under which anyone may use the library at all, and it changed. No API, no ABI
and no wire behaviour moved.

**First public documents.** `README.md`, `CONTRIBUTING.md` and this file did not
exist before today. The library has been implemented and tested since April; it
had nothing that told a reader what it was, how to build it, or what they were
permitted to do with it.

**Build fix carried in from 2026-08-18:** the test binary no longer links with
`-Wl,-rpath,build`. That rpath was relative, so the loader resolved it against
the process's working directory rather than the binary's — run from the project
root the suite graded `build/libblebus.so`, run from anywhere else it graded
whatever was installed at `/usr/local/lib`. The test now names the freshly built
archive on the link line, which removes the runtime search instead of aiming it.

**Known limit, unchanged and worth stating plainly:** `make test` covers the
local unix-socket transport only. The BLE L2CAP listener needs a real adapter
and is not exercised by the suite, so a green run is not evidence about the
radio path.

Initial implementation.

- Dual-listener broker: a local unix socket and a BLE L2CAP connection-oriented
  channel at `PSM = 0x0080`, both served by one broker thread per bus.
- Length-prefixed framing — 4-byte payload length in network byte order,
  followed by the payload. Wire-compatible with `libsockbus` by construction.
- Broadcast semantics: every reader receives every write, including the writer.
- Move-only RAII `Bus` handle over a pimpl; errors are `std::system_error`.
- BLE advertising registered over sd-bus as an `org.bluez.LEAdvertisement1`
  object when a bus is created.
- 15 unit tests over the unix-socket transport.
